The Black Rhinos Win Midlothian Rec League Tournament!

The Black Rhinos, an Augusta FC fall 2009 2nd/3rd grade boys rec team, brought home the championship trophy this past weekend from the Midlothian Youth Soccer League Mega Blast Tournament. The boys competed as a U-9 team in the top U-10 bracket and won all 4 games to win the Championship. The Black Rhinos beat the Richmond Strikers Rampage team 3-0 and the MYSL Yoshi Dudes 4-2 on Saturday to advance to the semi-final round. On Sunday morning, the Black Rhinos defeated MYSL Chelsea 3-2 to move on to the Championship game. They once again faced the Richmond Strikers Rampage team. It was 0-0 at the end of regulation leading to two 5-minute overtime periods from which the Black Rhinos emerged victorious with a score of 2-1. The 8 Black Rhinos teammates had an incredible support system from the "Cheerios", 12 siblings cheering non-stop on the sidelines. Way to go Black Rhinos!
