U15BR Player Selected for ODP Play in France!
U15 Boys Red team member Tyler Hochstetler was selected to travel to France this April with the 1997 Boys Virginia State ODP team. The team will be playing a series of international friendly games in Paris and Loire Valley from March 29th through April 8th. The U15BR team is coached by Augusta FC Director of Coaching Scott Harrison.
The ODP (Olympic Development Program) program is run by US Youth Soccer and its participating state agencies including VYSA (VA Youth Soccer Association) which Augusta FC is a member of. ODP is open to all U12-U17 boys and girls players and the program starts at the district level. There are 5 districts in VA including the West Central managed by SOCA out of Charlottesville. Players are selected from the District pools to form State ODP pools. The state ODP players participate in games against other state players within their region. There are 5 regions within the US. Players are then selected to regional teams and from there may be selected onto national pools to compete for spots on the US National level teams.
Augusta FC strongly encourages it's premier level travel players to consider the ODP program.
